Recycle Polystyrene (EPS) at FP International

FP International
recycles polystyrene foam (EPS) packaging at five
locations in the United States and one location in the United
Kingdom. In 2007, the
company recycled approximately 7.2 million pounds of EPS in the
U.S. (EPS is so lightweight that one
million pounds will cover a football field from goal post to
goal post over 50 feet
deep!)
FP International seeks clean EPS, the white foam used to protect
VCRs, TVs and other fragile items during shipment. The EPS is
processed and used to make new FLO-PAKŪ loosefill packaging.
Companies with large amounts of EPS packaging should call for
pricing or transportation assistance.
Individuals or small businesses may drop off clean EPS for
recycling but must call the FP International facility first to
see if material can be taken. The Redwood City, California,
facility accepts only baled EPS; no loose, bagged or stacked
material will be accepted.
