Material Specifications for recycling expanded polystyrene
 (EPS) with FP International 5/05


FORM

FP International accepts EPS (plastics code #6) baled, loose in bags, strapped in bundles, banded, palletized, shrink-wrapped, in boxes or any other manner that effectively contains the material for ease of loading or unloading. The Redwood City, California facility only accepts baled EPS.

QUALITY

Clean EPS that is not contaminated with other materials or waste (such as food, metal, pebbles, dirt, corrugated, wood, paper or any other plastic) is accepted. Wet, dirty EPS will NOT be accepted.

All tape, labels or bar coding stickers must be removed. Any painted EPS or EPS glued to corrugated cardboard will NOT be accepted.

LOOSEFILL OR “PACKING PEANUTS”

AAll loosefill must be bagged separately. All loosefill shapes and colors will be accepted.

People may call the Peanut Hotline, 800-828-2214, for local collection sites that accept loosefill for reuse.

PICK UP / DROP OFF

There is no charge to drop off EPS between 8:00 AM and 5:00 PM, Monday through Friday, at any FP International plant. Prior confirmation of any truckload quantity delivery is required.

If a business is located within the FP International delivery area, a nominal fee for picking up small quantities of EPS will be charged. For truckload (48’ semi) quantities, contact FPI for pricing information. RIGHT OF REFUSAL

FP International reserves the right to reject EPS that does not meet the above specifications. All rejected material will be returned to the supplier, at their expense.
